Paul Moses Strasko

Post-denominational

Jüdische Gemeinde Düsseldorf

Rabbi Paul Moses Strasko blends music and passion for Judaism in his service to Jewish communities worldwide. Raised in Montana, he grew up playing clarinet, saxophone, and singing, later studying music and then working in tecnology before turning to Jewish leadership. He pursued studies at the Hebrew Union College and Steinsaltz Center in Jerusalem, exploring  delving into Talmud and liturgy. In 2011, he was ordained as a rabbi at the Abraham Geiger Kolleg in Potsdam, earning an M.A. in Jewish Studies.

As a Schliach Tzibur, Paul enriches services with his bass-baritone voice and musical skills. Since 2012, he has contributed sermons to NDR’s “Schabbat Schalom,” sharing reflections on Jewish life. As Spiritual Director of Beit Virtuali since 2021, he teaches online courses on Kabbalah and Jewish ethics.

Paul has served communities in Geneva, Duisburg, Leeds, Seattle, and beyond, leading services in English, French, and German while teaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah students and adults. His book, “Gateways into Judaism,” explores Jewish thought. Now based in Schaprode, he lectures at the Abraham Geiger Kolleg and leads services for the Egalitarian Minyan of the Jüdische Gemeinde Düsseldorf with a blend of music and spirituality.
Fluent in English and German, Paul connects people across cultures. His work reflects a deep commitment to faith and community through music.
